The Ultimate Guide to Annual Events in Daytona Beach

The Ultimate Guide to Annual Events in Daytona Beach

One of the biggest surprises for people relocating to the greater Daytona Beach region is how active and event-driven this community really is. From world-class racing and motorcycle rallies to music festivals, car shows, and coastal celebrations, there is something happening almost every month of the year.

If you’re considering a move, investing in the area, or simply want to know what's coming up on our busy calendar, this guide will help you understand and experience everything the region has to offer.

January: The Rolex 24 at Daytona

The year kicks off with one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world: the Rolex 24 at Daytona. This 24-hour IMSA race (yes, for real - 24 hours) attracts international drivers, elite teams, and passionate fans who fill the area with energy and excitement. It’s considered one of the premier endurance races globally and has been held annually since 1962.

For locals, it marks the beginning of “event season” and brings a sophisticated, international crowd to the area. You'll have to experience it at least once. My advice is to get the weekend pass, complete with qualifying races, a lovely Taste of the 24 Event with our top local restaurants (benefiting the NASCAR Foundation), and infield passes to witness the race up-close and personal.

February: Speedweeks & The Daytona 500

Few events put Daytona Beach on the global map like Speedweeks and the Daytona 500. Known as the “Great American Race,” the Daytona 500 draws fans from across the country and serves as the kickoff to the NASCAR season. You'll hear - then see - the Thunderbirds practicing overhead for days leading up to the big race. Appearances always include famous artists, actors, and even a Presidential pop-in complete with Air Force One fly-by in the backdrop at the Great American Race.

The weeks leading up include qualifying races, fan experiences, and community events. The atmosphere across Volusia County is electric.

Pro tip: Discover your back roads and stick to them for a few days. And make sure to experience at least one in person.

March: Bike Week & Spring Break

Spring in Daytona Beach means sunshine, outdoor events, and high energy.

Daytona Beach Bike Week

This world-famous motorcycle rally brings hundreds of thousands of visitors each year for 10 days of racing, live music, scenic rides, and community gatherings.

Events take place across Volusia County, from Main Street in Daytona Beach to DeLand and Ormond Beach.

Pro tip: Whether you head to Iron Horse for the famous steak tips, or take in the amazing bike light show on Main Street at night, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the great food, appreciation for our town, and positive energy it brings each year.

Spring Break

While Daytona’s Spring Break has evolved over the years, it remains a seasonal tradition. Families, college students, and visitors come to enjoy our beautiful beaches, restaurants, and coastal lifestyle.

April: Jeep Beach

Jeep Beach has quickly become one of the fastest-growing and most beloved events in the region. Thousands of Jeep enthusiasts travel to Daytona each year for trail rides, beach driving, charity events, and community celebrations.

This event also raises significant funds for local nonprofits, making it a meaningful part of the community calendar.

May: Welcome to Rockville

This major rock and metal music festival attracts top bands and fans from around the country. Held at Daytona International Speedway, it features multiple stages and four full days of performances.

It’s one of the largest music festivals in Florida and adds a younger, energetic crowd to the spring season.

Summer: Beach Season & Local Festivals

Summer in Daytona Beach is about lifestyle:

  • Boating on the Halifax River

  • Paddleboarding and fishing

  • Local art walks and farmers markets

  • Outdoor concerts and food festivals

While the big headline events slow down slightly, the region’s natural beauty becomes the main attraction.

August: Coke Zero Sugar 400

The summer wraps up with another major NASCAR event, the Coke Zero Sugar 400. This night race at Daytona International Speedway is a fan favorite and often plays a critical role in playoff standings.

The evening setting and dramatic finishes make it one of the most exciting races of the year.

October: Biketoberfest

In the fall, the motorcycle community returns for Biketoberfest. This event is only one weekend, much smaller and more relaxed than Bike Week but still draws significant attendance and creates a vibrant atmosphere throughout the region.

The cooler weather makes it a favorite for locals.

November: Turkey Rod Run & Fall Festivals

The Turkey Rod Run is one of the largest car shows and swap meets in the country. Classic cars, collectors, and enthusiasts gather for several days of automotive culture.

The fall season also includes art festivals, wine tastings, and holiday events across Ormond Beach, Flagler Beach, and New Smyrna Beach.

December: Coastal Holiday Celebrations

The year ends with boat parades, tree lightings, and coastal holiday markets. Many neighborhoods and waterfront communities host festive gatherings that highlight the strong sense of community in the area.

Why This Matters for Lifestyle and Real Estate

For those relocating to Daytona Beach, these events aren’t just fun. They shape the rhythm of life here. They also influence:

  • Seasonal demand and tourism

  • Short-term rental and investment opportunities

  • Community culture and local business growth

  • Lifestyle and neighborhood choice

Living here means you can enjoy the excitement when you want it and retreat to quiet coastal neighborhoods when you don’t.

From the Rolex 24 to the Daytona 500, Bike Week to Jeep Beach, and Rockville to the Turkey Rod Run, Daytona Beach offers year-round energy with a coastal lifestyle that’s hard to match.

Whether you’re moving for work, investing, or simply looking for a vibrant yet relaxed place to live, this calendar of events is part of what makes the area so special.
